New Market, Maryland is a small historical town. The town is bursting with numerous antique shops. Whether one is looking for antique furniture or antique coins they can be found in one of the many shops found in New Market. The shops are mainly open on the weekends.
The Original Playhouse Children’s Museum is a great place for families. Here parents can take their children for an “original” play experience. It is filled with objects that don’t require batteries but may require an imagination.
There is also the Mid-Maryland Performing Arts Center. They offer over 100 classes weekly at the Performing Arts Center. Students of all ages are welcome here. BINGO is held every Friday, put on by the New Market Volunteer Fire Department. They offer cash prizes as well as free ice tea and water. They also have food for sale between 6 pm and 7 pm. The Fire Department also hosts an All-You-Can-Eat country breakfast every 4th Sunday each month.
The Hill Chapel House is also located in New Market. There is an offering of concerts at the Hill Chapel House. They try to bring a variety of great music as well as other entertainment. The concerts are held on most, but not all Thursday evenings.
